How a 4x daily ETP works

The target applies to one day at a time. Results over longer periods can differ from 4x the underlying fund's performance over the same period.

01Daily reset

Each ETP tracks an index that seeks to provide 4x the daily performance of its underlying fund. The leverage resets at the end of every trading day.

02Compounding

Because returns compound daily, performance over weeks or months depends on the path the underlying fund takes.

03Daily performance is multiplied

If the underlying fund rises 1% over a day, the ETP seeks to rise 4%, before fees and other adjustments. A move in the other direction is multiplied in the same way. The ETPs include a stop loss mechanism, and the base prospectus and final terms describe how it works.

04Collateralised structure

Each ETP is collateralised. Collateral is held to support the issuer's obligations to investors, and the base prospectus describes the arrangements.

05Built for active use

These products are designed for investors who understand leverage and review their positions regularly, typically over a single day or a few days.

Why use a 4x long commodity ETP

Sharper positioning

For investors with a bullish short-term view on oil, silver or gold, a 4x structure seeks to amplify the daily move in a single listed product.

Listed and familiar

Each ETP trades on an exchange like a share, with prices quoted in GBP and USD, under the tickers shown above.

Three major markets

Crude oil, silver and gold are among the most actively followed commodities, each with its own drivers and daily price movements.

What moves each commodity

Select a commodity to see the main factors that influence its price. Each underlying fund is linked to the price of its commodity, so these factors also influence the ETP.

Prices respond to production decisions by major producers, inventory levels and expectations for global demand. Events that disrupt production or shipping routes can move prices quickly. Oil prices can change sharply in a day, and the ETP seeks to deliver four times the daily performance of United States Oil Fund shares.

ETP

An exchange-traded product trades on an exchange like a share. It is a debt security issued by a financial institution and linked to a reference such as an index.

Collateralised

A collateralised ETP has collateral held to support the issuer's obligations to investors. The base prospectus describes the collateral arrangements.

Issuer

The company that issues the ETPs and owes investors the obligations under them. GraniteShares Financial Plc issues all three ETPs.

Index

Measures the performance of a defined reference. These ETPs track Solactive Daily Leveraged 4x Long indices, and each index seeks to provide 4 times the daily performance of an underlying fund.

Daily reset

The ETP recalculates its leverage at the end of each trading day, so the 4x target applies to one day only.

Compounding

Applies each day's return to the previous day's ending value. Over several days, the ETP return can differ from four times the underlying fund return.

Long product

Seeks to gain when the underlying fund rises and to lose when it falls.

Stop loss mechanism

A feature intended to limit losses in certain conditions. The base prospectus and final terms describe how it works for these ETPs.

Ticker

A short code that identifies a listed security on an exchange. Each ETP has its own ticker, shown in the product details.
